Slow web browsing

My ePods is hacked with the XP hack. Is there any way to speed up web page loading? I have a 802.11b card working in the unit but pages load very very slowly. Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure about the XP hack because I'm not running it (yet). I'm currently running 2.04 hack.

I -can- tell you that the Epods CPU / browser combination is really slow. I'm using my 5 Epods for home automation and writing my own ASP programs for it. I'm constantly trying to do things that will improve browser performance.

I'm afraid there's not much that I know of to improve browser speed. Anyone else care to comment?

Regards,

Doug

I can see why the company went under then. They come with a 56K modem but can't even perform to that mininaml of a speed. I guess I'll be selling mine.

Thanks

Hi, Maybe I should have asked what you meant by "very very slowly". The speed is subjective, but complex pages do take a while to render after they are recieved from the Net.

I'd hate to see you give up so quickly on such a cool device. Just to make sure we're on the same page, if you'd care to bring up some web page, say Yahoo.com and give me the time it takes to load, I'll compare that to my load times.

Thanks for taking the time to look into this for me. At 11 mbits it took about 15 seconds to load www.yahoo.com.

Yup. With my SMC 10MBPS wireless card to a LinkSys wireless router connected to my cable modem, I get about 20 seconds.

I'm pretty sure that alot of that time is figuring our html <tables> and rendering graphics.
