Linux for the ePods!

Well, I don't have it to offer, but things have matured since 2001/2002. I'm checking out opie, and it would take a little work, but can be done.

On the http://www.handhelds.org site there is a porting guide available about how to procede when starting a port.
If this does not scare you away you are welcome to make the linux port. Most people on the Opie list won' t be able in helping you with the port but handhelds.org has some highly competent guys. You might want to join on irc (irc://irc.freenode.net #handhelds) to get questions answered. Michael O. might be a good starting point to get help from though he has more experience with ARM CPUs.

Worth a try.

As a build system have a look at http://www.openembedded.org

So, anyone who wants to help me, or has some free time, (ha!, I know, I know, who really has free time!), post a line here.

Using pbsdb I was able to boot up: netbsd.TX3922.gz

ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.5.3/hpcmips/binary/kernel/

I just can't tell WTF is going on. There's stuff scrolling. I must have a screen setting wrong. I'm using the settings for the telios.

I have serial port output enabled. I can't get anything. Not sure what that's about.

Please note that if you load the netbsd image in pbsdboot will flush the rom, and it'll be a like a HARD reboot. Please keep this in mind.

Anyone interested in working on this project? I'd be willing to offer a hefty cash reward for a solid distro.
