I've seen articles on hacks and seen the kind of really creative stuff people are using ePods for. I'd like to get some information on the ePod device to see if we can being manufacturing it - one way or another.
Does any one have information about who the original manufacturer/assembler of this device is ? I'm not looking for the company that sold it along with the ISP deal - instead I'm looking for the contract manuf who built/assembled it in say China/taiwan or wherever it was built.
I'm very interested in building a similar device - i.e. touchscreen color LCD + WiFi + about 16-32MB of free ram + either Linux or WinCE as the OS. My main concern is the price-point - I really cannot afford the $2000 that such a device costs today (and comes with all sorts of stuff I don't care about). I need a barebones - "just does enough" type of device that people can expand/hack/modify/playwith to their heart's content.
If we can find the orig manuf - or even get a company name/lead name then we might be able to swing a deal with them.
