I do not consider myself tech challenged, but I can't even get past the sign on page. what is up? Am I doing something wrong? I went through the hack your e-pod site and thought this was easy? Any help appreciated.
When you enter the CTRL code. It is ctrl3 no -. do it this way it will work I just got one of these on the Friday after thanksgiving. it worked for me. I know how you feel , I had it back in the box until I found the Hack site
Might be that the key commands are not being captured by the login app (I thinks it's epod.exe) in other words lost focus. Try making sure the cursor is flashing in the username or password section. I had this happen to me as well. I logged in and then clicked the calendar and it asked me to login again. I tried 5 times till I noticed there was no cursor flashing in any of the fields.
I'm also new and just started the effort to get past the login. I have been following the Hack Your ePod site. I Have entered, ctrl-3 ctrl-1 ctrl-4 ctrl-1 ctrl-5 and ctrl3 no - and combinations there of. Sorry to be so dense. help thank you
I just received my epod too, and had a similar problem.. I believe you need to make sure the username field is focused before doing the c3-c1-c4-c1-c5 thing..
OK, I must need to sell this unit I'm too...stupid to get in. I turn it on and the screen goes to the Handshake screen. Here I am translating the Username to be Member Name. My unit have member Name and password. Or have I missed a step and need to another area?
yeah, that's right i think.. put the focus on member name and try it.. It took me a couple of tries to get it right, mainly because I was doing c1->c2->c3->c4->c5 instead of c3->c1->c4->c1->c5
I too am an newbie with the Epod - just received mine the other day from Overstock. It took me about 5 times to get past the login screen. The only problem I had was it seemed as if I didn't tap the numbers exactly on the center of them to where they change colors for a split second then it wouldn't work. If I did it real fast it never would work, but if I slowed down to ensure each key tap was recorded then it worked. I tested this 4 times before applying the password hack and it worked each time.
Thank You for all your help, I'm to a point where it wants to dial out. I purchased this by mistake from Overstock and thought I would give it a try. I think I will sell it now I just don't have the time I use to. So I will let someone else play. Look for it on e-bay soon.
I just bought two e-Pods on Overstock.com and am looking forward to hacking them. I had the same problem with hitting the ctl-3.... hack WITH THE SMALL KEYBOARD. The keyboard button toggles between off, small and LARGE. When I entered the password hack on the LARGE keyboard, it took it.
