Can’t locate \Win_Cefiles subdirectory
Installed Win CE 2.04 & would like to install ePods1XP

I installed Windows CE shell version 2.04 and it seems to work fine. Now I would like to install the ePods1XP with Apps. However, the instructions below say to put the ePods1XP hack files in the \Win_Cefiles subdirectory. I can’t find this directory. FileStore lists the following directories: ePods System, My Documents, NETWORK, Program Files, Recycled, Temp and Windows. Did I install Windows CE 2.04 incorrectly? When installing the shell, I used ActiveSync to delete everything in the \ePods System subdirectory and then I used it to copy all the 2.04 files back into \ePods System directory like what the directions say. How was the directory \Win_Cefiles created?

Instructions
Wait, before you do the ePods1XP hack, heed this all-important tip: If you do my v2.04 hack first (per this site's Software page), then make sure you put the ePods1XP hack files in the \Win_CeFiles subdirectory rather than the \ePods System subdirectory. This is absolutely critical. Note this discussion board thread as well. This wonderful hack works if you apply it correctly

With the v2.04 hack the directory \Win_Cefiles is created automatically after importing the v2.04 registry then doing a soft reset.

Problem fixed. Thanks for the reply. I was able to fix the problem by re-running “Import Registry File” and importing “v204.reg”. I then did a soft reset/screen recalibration. Now the program icons display on the desktop and now the directory \Win_CeFiles appears.

Now I will try installing the XP upgrade.
