The registry entries in HKLM/Software/Microsoft/shell/keys control the mapping of the hard buttons to programs.
The three entries ending in "1" are linked to the "e" button. The three entries ending in "3" are linked to the display button. If you want to revert the display button to the native function of power:display:backlight instead of the control panel; change the keys ending in "3" from control.exe to ezex.exe.
Apologies if this has already been posted on the board.

Ok... I must be an idiot... I made the registry changes to map the e button to Hum..
eg
\Storage Card\hum\hum.exe
I reset, as well as shut off and on.. and when I hit e, I don't get hum, I get nothing.. however I got nothing before.. so I changed all 3 entries that ended in 3 to the same...
\Storage Card\hum\hum.exe
I stil get the control panel...
any ideas?

RE:Remapping the iExplorer & Display Button (modified 0 times)
Did you try a soft reset? Press in the little button on the back. I think you need to do it while your epods is on btw. DO NOT PRESS the power button while doing this though, or it'll rebuild the whole file system from scratch (removing any changes).
It also looks like in their default state those keys don't work when the ePods is offline, maybe they won't do the remapped things when off line too?

soft reset didn't work... It could be the off line thing... as so far I dont use it for web surfing... Since I did the v1 easy hack.. the buttons work as I wanted... Thanks....
