Geek heaven! The Novatel Wireless Merlin for Ricochet does work with the ePods -- I'm posting this right now using it. I'll probably have to mess with it to make power management work though. If you aren't familiar with Ricochet, it's a 128K wide-area wireless connection.
I finally have something cheap enough to carry around on weekends and not worry if it gets destroyed.

Cool... I have been using the external Richochet modem with my epods for a while now. I wish I would have waited for the pcmcia version to come out before I bought one. It is just a little awkward to carry around to epods with the Richochet modem velcroed to the back...

Check with your service provider and see if they'll let you trade in the old one. I'm using WWC, and they gave me $99 trade-in value (which is what I paid for it) for the old "cigarette pack" modem on the PCMCIA one.

Just a quick question, HOW do you set up a Ricochet External Wireless modem up to your ePod via serial. What do you configure in software world? I'm borrowing one from a friend, and I'd like to see it working in action, other than on the laptop.
