Just got a call from Salton. I ordered 10 units this afternoon and they just called to tell me the latest shipment arrived damaged ! I asked how they knew the units were damaged and the representative told me "It's considered damaged when you hear things rattling around inside the box." So now I'm on backorder. Sounds a bit suspicious to me.

Admittedly, that is a bit fishy. I don't know why they wouldn't open the box to verify everything, but that may just be the way the shipping company handles things.
Gee, maybe they can sell them "Open Box" at a discounted price like Best Buy. ;)
Backorder? I don't know what number you're calling for Salton but there are 29 sitting in the Gurnee store and another 400 in warehouse waiting to be sold....

i went to the Salton website...from there you can chat with one of their customer service reps online...she told me they had them in stock and ready to ship...for $499...and she was also very knowledgeable about what they were and what they could be
