Glitch's keyboard

New MessageGlitch's keyboard (modified 0 times) Garibaldo
Glitch, I was looking for a Dauphin similar to yours on ebay. I found a couple, but they had PS2 connections not USB connections. Did you get a converter or is there a different version of the keyboard with a USB connector? I'd appreciate your help.

AFIK, the Dauphin keyboard is only made with a PS/2 connection. I am using an USB to PS/2 adapter with mine.

Keep in mind that this keyboard is not really very nice. The keys are small. This makes typing difficult. I don't like the feel of the keys. I wouldn't use this product if was a full size keyboard.

What I like about the keyboard is it's size. Almost a perfect match for the ePods. The closest I've seen is the mini USB keyboard from Compuspex which is 0.5" wider and more expensive.

I also like history factor of using a Dauphin product. I believe the Dauphin DTR-1 was the first webtablet (they called it a pen based computer).

Click-here for a picture of it.

AndyP,

Are you talking about the Dauphin Orisis?

Sorry,

I looked around their web site a little more... found their list of kit - didn't find the Dragon 32/64...

AndyP: The link I posted above was found strictly through a search engine. It was the best picture I could find of the DTR-1. I didn't realize that there were other classic computers on that site (hence my confusion to you comment). Some people were running Dragon Dictate on a Dauphin Orisis. I thought that was the basis of your comment.

I'm glad your comment made me go back and look at the site. What is really scary is that I've used quite a few of the machines listed on the site. My wife and I just spent 45 minutes reminiscing about those old machines.

Do you think the ePods will be on a site like this in 20 years?

Is the Compuspec keyboard you were refering to the ACK-595?

sadlerjon: I was refering to the DFK62U. Here is a comparison of sizes:

ePods - 9.75 x 8.25 x .75

Dauphin - 9.5 x 5.5 x 0.75
DFK62U* - 10 x 4 x 1
ACK-595U* - 11.3 x 5.5 x 1.1

* from the CompuSpex website

With some creative hacking the Dauphin could be repackaged to 9.25 x 3.25 x 1.

Another alternative is to see if you can find a Newton keyboard. I saw some software at CEcity.com that might work with epods
