I was rather impressed just with the fact that it worked. The quality isn't that good compared to hooking up headphones to a computer. I was able to listen to MP3's remotely with my wireless lan though, and that was really cool. Incidently I was also able to watch movies over the network. It is a little slow on the movies, but interesting that it kind of works. I think Citrix limits the sound quality to 8bit either 11k or 22k though, so the quality isn't the best. I would suggest going with a 11mbs wireless lan card, or a 10/100 wired network card. The 2mbs wireless, and 10mbs wired will probably be slower than you want for remotely listening to audio.

Remember that the epods sound hardware is pretty imited anyway.

Also, on the network front - it's my understanding that the epods can't use 100Mb/s adapters. And 11Mb wireless is more like 4-5Mb/s - you'd (just!) get better performance out of a wired 10Mb/s ethernet card.

The company I work for originally had plans to use dumb terminals with W2k and citrix metaframe. As plans were changed I was given the opportunity to acquire a license and actiation code for Citrix 1.8 to use with my NFR copy of Advance ever I got from Microshaft. When I try to install CM, it states that Terminal service is in remote admin mode and needs to put in application mode. If I do this, will I need to acquire a Terminal service license as well, or does the citrix license take care of that?

I'm learning this whole Terminal service and citrix thing as a go along, so I'm not exactly sure of the ins and outs, and don't want my TS to stop working after 180 days because I don't have a license.

Thanks

Yes you have to get MS terminal server licenses also.

as anyone got the sound to work using citrix metaframe FR1? I can get the wav sounds to stream, but whenver I try to listen to an MP3 (whether media player or winamp) I get a device out of range error. Any help?

It's my understanding that this happens when you haven't properly registered the app with Citrix.

are there any guides on the internet explaining how Citric's solution works and how it compares to TS ?
Even withh Rdp 5.1 (w98/w2k client) the sound is pretty poor/skippy !

reviving an old topic.
I finally got around to installing Citrix Metaframe XP but inexplicably can't get the epods to connect. It works fine with my iPaq though ! Problem seems to be that it's "stalling" the server for some reason.
Anyone else have this problem ?
