Possible source of Samsung K4S641632C-TC70 (original epod) memory

Well, after some serious searching, I may have found a source for loose SDRAM for the upgrade.

http://www.iseebank.com/english/home/start.asp

is the URL. I registered (free) and did an RFQ (request for quote) on the above memory chip (the chips on my rev 1.2 board). Their online stock shows 2000 pcs in stock, and I did an RFQ for 10 pcs (In comments I said for prototyping...).

If it pans out, I'd be looking for 3-4 ppl willing/wanting to get 2 chips for themselves, and it could be made into a true group buy if more show interest. Please don't reply with the ME TOO's until I hear back if a smaller quantity is available and for a decent price. We could even make it into a true group buy by including some 100k 0603 resistors and 0.1uF 0603 caps from digikey (wouldn't really add much cost, they're cheap!)

I should hear back sometime next week, so I'll keep you all posted.

PS...they also show limited stock (13 pcs) on the Micron MT48LC4M16A2-10A part that has been reported to work in this thread by nowhere

Without comparing the specs of the two parts, I'd go with the Micron part. BNI, YMMV.

Hmmm...but the samsung part is the oem part on my board....I would guess that using the exact part would yield the least compatability problems...

Another source for the chips may be from the Samsung www.mymemorystore.com. They are geared to sell to businesses. They require a resale certificate number and a federal tax ID number. I have a few friends who own businesses which may be set up for such a purchase. I'll pursue this avenue on Monday. Hopefully, someone else reading this may also be able to help out.

Just a quick update. I still haven't had any luck finding the 7ns memory. My friends with businesses were unable to help out with a direct Samsung purchase.

Another thought is to try Mushkin, Crucial, Kingston, etc. to see if they sell modules with compatible chips and/or loose chips. Loose chip will be a long shot.
