Farallon Skyline 802.11b card works w/epods

New MessageFarallon Skyline 802.11b card works w/epods (modified 0 times) sbanzai
Tried all day to get a 2 MB Zoom (Prism-based) wireless card to work without any luck. At a $99 regular price, I thought I'd give it a go.

While looking through one of the PC-Zone/Connection/Warehouse catalogs, I saw a photo of the D-Link wireless card and thought that it looked remarkably like the Farallon Skyline card I had sitting in my Mac PowerBook. Saw that Steven (on this board) had gotten the D-Link to work using the generic Intersil drivers. So for one last try before bed, I hard-reset the epods, loaded the drivers, crossed my fingers and popped in the Farallon card. Success!!

So, this post is being sent from a 2.04 hacked epods which will soon be put into service on our living room coffee table as an electronic TV-Guide (replacing the i-opener that just seems a little too big for the space now). No wires! This is GREAT!!

Thanks to Randy, Saridnour, and everyone else who have put so much time and effort into helping me drive my wife crazy with this cool little toy.

If you have time, I need help with mine and am looking for a epod mentor...

I have epod with DLink 802.11b and have only hacked to get another ISP working. Loaded Intersil drivers and the devices gets an IP address but does no go online.
Tried to get registry edit but system always says that the program can not be run.

Thanks in advance,

Yes! It's working - kind of. I used the Intersil drivers. I have an Airport plugged into a switch which is plugged into a cable modem. I have a static IP - DHCP did not work. I can surf the web for only a few minutes and then the connection is lost. The green link light on the Skyline stays solid though. To reconnect, pulling out the card and reinserting it seems to work. Any ideas how to keep the connection for longer?
