"Salton, the merchandising company behind such infomercial legends as the George Foreman Grilling Machine, the Breadman and the Juiceman, recently took a $2 million stake in Epods and will be launching the product with its own infomercial this summer. The Epods device will be offered for $199, plus a yet-to-be-determined monthly service fee."
Well, 10,000 units x $200 = $2M. So I doubt that Salton is losing much sleep over ePods' failure. They will get most of their investment back when they dump the remaining stock onto the open market, whether it is at $200 or $500.

The original epods site is still up, including links to articles, press releases etc., at http://www.epodsinc.com . For some reason they had the same pages at both epods.com and epodsinc.com, but only removed the epods.com site when they folded.
