Here's more info from the manufacturer...

Haven't tried one, but they seem to support all flavors of CE.

xterra2000,

Any particular reason you are trying to get a CF-based solution? I tried my trusty NetGear FA410TX dual 10/100 pcmcia ethernet card from my Toshiba notebook (which did not work at all in my 2.04 hacked ePods). I then went to CompUSA (a physical store, not the online site) and they had a "generic" dongle-free pcmcia ethernet card for $30. It works like a champ, or at least until I can cough up the bucks for a wireless setup. Here is a link to the manufacturer (or at least what appears to be the same product under a different OEM stamp):

http://www.bromax.com/product/BIN010-TF.htm

The next link is to the online CompUSA site (you really have to hunt for this one) that shows the same "store-bought" product for only $20:

http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product%5Fcode=274426

10 BaseT PCMCIA Card
Manufacturer: FMI
Mfg Part #: 10320002
CompUSA SKU: 274426
CompUSA Price: $19.99

Good luck.

Augur,

Well, I was wondering if this CF card make any different in term of speed. My Linksys is really slow for surfing web.

Augur, I bought the card that you mention from CompUSA local store for $20. When I got I found out that it wasn't a dongle-free card. I come with a dongle, even it was smaller than the linksys one. I will go back to CompUSA again tonight and check out if they have carry the different one. Anyway, thanks.

Egads,

I will double-check the SKU on my box when I get home. Sorry if I put the wrong info in my previous post. The one I bought came in a green box with generic ethernet specs on the outside. Definitely dongle-free, with a stubby protrusion beyond the ePods case when installed, a CAT5 connector, and two leds (LINK and ACT).

I think the SKU # is correct. I got one last night and it has no dongle.

I had a little trouble finding it. It was marked something like $34.95 on the aisle, but it showed as $19.99 in the computer.

Thanks again. I found out that both cards have the same SKU. Finally I got the dongle-free card. Thanks. It was great, $20 is a great deal.
