Intel PRO/Wireless card - Yes and No
It works, but not after the hack...

Hi,
First - this group is great. I read the BBS for a few weeks, then bought an epods direct from Salton, plugged in my Linksys PCMCIA NIC (worked instantly), did the 16bit video hack, did the requisite hacks to be able to active synch in stuff, and got a 32Meg CF card. I have a wireless network at work and I had an Intel wireless card kicking around, so I grabbed the CE beta drivers and active synched them into the epods. Reset, plugged in the card, adjusted the ESSID, gave it an IP address pointed to the default gateway and started surfin'. Worked fine. THEN, I did the V1 easy hack and it stopped working. Can't find the card.

I've tried many different combinations and orders of installation and I've hard reset it many, many times to see if I'm missing something. I've read that control panel (.cpl) causes conflicts - dumped them into another folder - .dlls and registry all seem to be just like when it works in the un-hacked epods.

I liked the snappy CE desktop the V1 hack gives but wireless is the way to go with the epods. Right now I can pick one or the other. Anyone have a clue for me?

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I had similar problems getting my ePods to recognize my wired pcmcia ethernet card. I tried putting my old NetGear ethernet card in (the one that wouldn't work) and it "refreshed" the NE2000 driver. I then put the previously working card in and voila! back in business. I don'e know if it will help, but you might try something similar. Also, did you remove the registry entry and then soft boot?
