UUGIB:
I have just aquired 2 Cabletron Wireless NIC's and would like to setup a peer to peer network between either a Win2000 professional workstation, Win2000 server or Windows 98se box. I do not have an access point so I am assuming that this is my only option right now. Unfortunately no options exist that I can find to set the Network name for the Windows CE Roamabout drivers. Have you done this or are you using an access point of some kind? The NICs install fine under all 3 OSes and on the epods unit, but That is about as far as I can get.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Doug

Access Points: Earlier when first playing with wireless tried doing this and got it to work by utilizing NAT only thing you have to remember is that you can route between two NICs on NT and Windows but you cannot bridge between them. Makes things kind of awkward so purchased a bridge to extend my wireless network into my wired network and works well. I am using and have installed terminal server with EPOD and works excellent. I am very impressed....that would be the best route at this time.

Setting the network name is easy to do. Go into the Control Panel and click on RoamAbout Settings. The first setting there should be "Wireless Network Name". Leaving this as ANY should work, but you will want to change it to something else on each machine. It is cAsE sensitive so be careful.
I have an Access Point, but left the net name as ANY. Not very secure, but oh well.

I used Internet Connection Sharing in Win 98 SE to build my wireless network - an old 486 laptop, ethernet PCMCIA card, wireless card.
I just followed the instructions from the Proxim site:
