Faster stock modem?

New MessageFaster stock modem? (modified 0 times) jungle_quack
Anyone know how to speed up the stock 56k modem? I can't find the RWIN,MSS and other settings in the regisrty. My net surfing is too slow! Ideas?

That's because you are trying to pull huge graphics and complex HTML on a small portable device. Get a laptop if you need supersonic surfing, even a 486 could outperform it.

I'm going to restrain myself and just say read my post. I asked where the RWIN, MSS, MTU and other modem settings are stored as I couldn't find them in the registry. I'm sure there's room for improvement. Supersonic surfing? Uh, ...no.

I haven't heard that those items are settable/changeable for CE. One speed tweak that I have heard is that reducing your cache can speed up pages. We're still unsure as to why this happens but we have seen it happen.

Not in CE huh? Darn. I was thinking in Win98 mode, not CE. Thanks nhavar for the reality reminder.
