Not sure if this was mentioned before, but:

You can enable or disable the battery warning that will be displayed when you insert a card while on battery power.

Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\PCMCIA\
You can change the "NoBatteryCheck" value :

1 : enable the warning when inserting a card while on battery power
0 : disable the warning
