Epods Folio Carry Case - $1.44 (modified 0 times) Groch Alright, don't scoff till you try it. Office Depot is closing out the Mead 5-Star Wirebound Notebook Folio for $1.44, I think they are normally about $9. Its basically a balistic nylon wirebound notebook holder sku 4310033502. The notebook just slides out so no modification is necessary and its the perfect size. If you can find blue it matches the Epods color almost exactly. 2 big strips of velcro later(not supplied - to hold the Epods in) you have a combination protective cover, PC card holder, and Upright Easel The velcro latch that comes with the binder folds backwards to make an easel/stand if you want to use it with a keyboard or as a picture frame. The binder folds all the way back when you are holding it, so there is no reason to ever remove it (except to hard boot). I had been looking for a leather cover, but frankly, this looks damn near as good and the price is right. 02-11-2001 12:59:14

And if I find something better, I'll use this for it's intended purpose. FYI - In my store, the price was not marked as being on clearance, but it showed up as $1.44 in the computer. When I asked the sale girl to scan the price for me, I noticed a raised eyebrow. I like it so far. If people are interested, I might take a few pictures and put it up somewhere. I finally have my long awaited toy which I use mostly for reading e-books and I need a case for transporting it with at least a modicum of protection. This folio carry case sounds perfect but I don't have an OD in my area. Would anyone be willing to pick one up for me and ship it? I'd pay for the hassle and greatly appreciate it. Don't remember how much I paid for it but Epod fits inside a little loosely. Samsonite leather case is OK but the "Boing" case has a little more padding. 02-18-2001 20:26:28

RE:Epods Folio Carry Case - $1.44 (modified 0 times) ubik I just want to remind 'pod users that the folks at thepouch.com make custom cases for PDAs for about $30 out of nylon and wetsuit material. The one they made for me works great. Though the price may be more that a make-do from Staples, mine is made to fit perfectly, has a cover flap that protects the screen and a pouch on the back that holds the accessories. 02-19-2001 07:37:30
