Has anyone heard how Salton's sales of the Epod is going since they raised the price from $199 to $499?

Zip, zilch, nada. Haven't sold any since the the price had to be increased (due to hacking and people not purchasing the Internet service through CMI). Let's just say I know someone who works there and they have a little over 400 sitting in one warehouse and a few more in one of the stores. $499.99 plus $12.00 for shipping. No other price plans or options available - just the one flat price.
I am suprised that these company's don't learn. They have a product sitting in a warehouse becoming more and more obsolete by the day. Pretty soon a new product will come along that can do what their's can but do it faster, lighter, and cheaper. They should take the $80K and be happy they got it. Hell, make em $250 and they can walk away with $100K. But I don't think that they are makin a whole lot of money right now off em.
That's funny, Squirrel, my contact at Salton Outlet told me that they're selling two or three a week -- which is way down from the 20 per day they were selling at the lower price.
I certainly hope so. They'll have to unless they wait so long that they get sold as scrap. I'd hate to see that happen! these are cute little machines.
I haven't heard anything about lowering the prices. I agree that they are aging fast and something has to be done. I've got some people I can contact to see what can be done, but I don't know if anything will happen soon.
