Home / Web Pads / Epods One General Post
Creating a Client/Server app for the Epods
Creating a Client/Server Home Automation app for the Epods

New MessageCreating a Client/Server app for the Epods (modified 0 times) SnappleBoy
The primary use of my Epods is as a home automation (HA) interface (can't beat the touch screen).
The HA applications, call HomeSeer, is running on a W2K server machine (check out www.keware.com,
it's even cooler than the epods itself...ooh bite your tongue). I am able to get to the app using
TS and that works well but evertime I shut off and turn on the epod I have to select the TS icon
and then logon to the W2k machine. I would like to just turn on the epods and have the HA interface
present. Anyone have any suggestions here?

That's where the C/S app comes in. I have read threads explaining creating apps using
the MS SDK which looks promising. Does anyone have any example code or apps that communicate
from the CE device to a server app (perferably via TCPIP or even serial)?

If I come up with anything interesting I'll post. Also I'd be interested if anyone else is
using this thing as an HA interface and what you've done.

Great board, keep up the great discussions!
