Actually, I think it's a simple case of supply and demand. We have a temporary glut caused by the fact that Neimann Marcus shipped their last batch of epods last week. Lots of people (including myself) ended up getting an extra one, and many of those units are turning up on ebay. A larger supply means lower prices. In a few weeks, the Neimann Marcus units will have gone through the pipeline, and nearest I can tell, there aren't any more new $199 units where they came from. So the prices will probably rise a bit (but hopefully not to the exhorbitant levels they hit when Salton first raised their price to $500!). So it's a buyer's market for the moment - get 'em while they're hot!  | |
