Constant Recalibration
Constant Recalibration

New MessageConstant Recalibration (modified 0 times) AgaricX
I just got my ePods from Neiman Marcus yesterday. Completed all the hack and have a 48MB flash loaded. I love it love it. I played with it all last night. I transferred all my client info and address book, went on the net. Everything was copacetic. Same for this morning. I took it to work to show it off. I kept it in a nice protective case, turned it on and the calibration was off. OK... did a soft reset. No dice. Now all I have is the stulus calibration screen on. I hit the middle and all 4 corners... then it goes back to the middle. I have done it 6 times... 7...8...9... then a soft reset. 10 more times, then a hard reset.

AHHHHHH. Please Help me! I'm no novice, I have 5 Iopeners as terminals and more ePods on the way... Whats happening?

boy that's a weird one. all I can suggest is to hit the top two buttons (power and ie) because that boots up callibration. maybe it will take it away.

I have used a number of CE devices, and one of them had a file in the system folder called tchcal.ini that was created after a hard reset followed by screen calibration. I am not able to get to my epods now, but I would imagine that some equivalent exists, also probably some registry keys. Mine was finicky at first and wouldn't accept my calibrations repeatedly, but the problem solved itself. Anyway, I think it's possible that some of the touchpanel overlays are marginally defective. Hope that's not the problem, but mine is the only one of a batch that we bought that had that problem. Let me know what happens.

I would try some hard resets and then one of those "ultra hard" resets where you remove the battery for a day, that seemed to fix some unusual problems others have had if I remember correctly.

If you don't have enough room to create the mentioned tchcal.ini file, that might cause this problem...

I thought I had the same problem. Just hold the stylus down until the "crosshairs" move to the next position. You have to depress and hold for a moment.

I hope this works I almost tore mine apart before some kind soul posted a similar suggestion in this forum.

Were you able to resolve this? I am getting the exact same thing on my epods...
