"Not a valid CE application" errors when running dowloaded EXEs

New Message"Not a valid CE application" errors when running dowloaded EXEs (modified 0 times) Lentunti
Before I did the easy CE hack I was able to download and run programs (Such as the unzip utility). Since I completed the CE hack I get a "Not a valid CE application" error when I ever run a dowloaded program (The Caligrapher software as an example).

Has anyone any ideas?

Thanks
Len

I'm not going to one of those who say search.. yada..yada..yada...
You need ActiveSync to install most/all of the software you download. D/L ActiveSync from MS, you will have to find the link, I don't have it. Get a 9 pin f-f null modem cable to connect your Epod to your PC. Install ActiveSync on your PC, connect your Epod. Start/program/communications/pclink. Get them talking to each other. Run the software on your PC, and it will install.

NOTE: And I really should let everyone know this... DO NOT INSTALL software to your CF card that needs to get loaded when the epod starts (like from a soft-reset). In some/most occations you will have serious problems and will have to do the 2.04 hack again, losing all of your installed programs. The reason is that the epod does not recognize the CF card during the boot after the soft-reset. If you say install BugME, where the timer activated actions occur, boom! You will have to do a re-install.

Have Fun!

Thanks for your help.

Also, apologies for not searching the group before the post. Won't make that mistake again.
