Any way to share my ePods filesystem via ethernet?

New MessageAny way to share my ePods filesystem via ethernet? (modified 0 times) eggplant
Is there a way I can make my ePod show up as a shareable file system on my other windows machines? I've got wireless cards working just fine (TS works great) but I want an easier way to move files over than via ActiveSync or CF. I've never seen it appear in my network neighborhood. Any ideas?

I don't think you can sync via ethernet or make a standard "windows share," but you can set your epods up with a ftp or http server and browse that way. There are probably a few servers out there. Here is one: http://www.wincecity.com/software/hpcpro/vxWeb-1999-05-07-ce-hpcpro.html - albeit only a 30 day shareware version. Here's another one that's free: http://www.wincecity.com/software/hpcpro/CET-Web-Server-2000-02-01-ce-hpcpro.html

I haven't tried these, but they are listed as h/pc pro at wincecity and should work I suppose. Hopefully one can be set up as a ftp server as that would be easy to use (windows can browse ftp servers easily and in later windows versions like 98,me,2000,whistler you can put them in your "my network" or whatever just like a windows share.) I don't have my epods networked yet and thus can't exactly test this function :)

You can easily do the reverse - e.g. access your Windows shares from the CE file browser. Just specify the path as //hostname/sharename/ Very handy.
