Changing of the screen/TFT Units

Been sitting quiet but thought it's about time to ask a good question. In all the documentation I have read on these units it states that there was an option of a TFT screen. Has anyone actually seen any of these. If anyone does have one could you find out the manufacture and model of the screen and post it. From what I can tell the hardware was all the same except for the screen in all of these units, so we could just swap screens, (obviously leaving the electronics in tact) for a good price. Leaving us with a TFT unit. Depending on the screen type I could get some through my supplier anywhere from $65-$150. Please if you have a TFT unit check the screen type.

keggers,

I purchased 2 or 3 1200 units for "parts". At least 2 of them have smashed TFT screens. The third may or may not be TFT but its screen is deffective too. I fired one up and, of course, the screen was a mess due to the major blow to the screen, right dab in the middle, but otherwise all seems to be working on the unit. It actually looks like someone intentially slammed it with a hammer breaking the plastic shield attached to front cover and screen glass and even marking the "paper" parts underneath. First the Stylistic Model NO. is FMW2540T. The dual scan is same number but with an S at the end instead of T. I've stripped down the screen to individual layers and the only identifying markings I can find are on the front metal bezel, white sticker:

CA51001-0163
006119 02A
MEDTCB14QAF
Made in Japan 98.02

The connector ribbon has a sticker on it: 003AC MG86
Stamped on the ribbon is:

86A
KH

I'll be glad to send it to you and would like it back after you have obtained all the info you need (but no rush).

Let me know. Be well,
granny
