I was recently given a Stylistic 500, but without the floppy drive. I have been searching around the internet with no luck for weeks for a place to buy one. I was wondering does anyone know where to get the floppy drive for it? it has really been killing me because i recently formatted the drive and it wont boot anymore.
You might want to try eBay for the floppy drive.
Alternatively, you could buy a $5 adapter to connect the HD to your desktop PC and copy the basic DOS files and W95/98 setup files.
As the HD is a PCMCIA drive, you can stick it in a laptop and install the OS there. The driver files can be found on Fujitsu's web site. You can do an archive search on the pen computing newsgroup. Someone there had purchased a Stylistic 1000 and wanted to sell his 500 floppy.
yes it is a pcmcia HD. I dont have a laptop or know anyone who would let me borrow one to install the system files. Pat the Hack how do i get to the pen computing newsgroup?
its a 260mb HD. If you could give me the system files that would be really nice, being stupid I formatted the drive and forgot to do /s. So i put it in my grandparents old laptop when I was visiting and copied the dos files, but it wouldnt boot. So if you could get me the sys files that would be great.
