Just a quick thought that came to me while reading Greenspark's post... One of my units came with a screen protector attached. I just picked them up a bit ago and haven't had time to investigate it. The protector is not as large as the screen (may be homemade or for another appliance or even that size orginally sold for the 1200) At any rate it is stuck down with something. It is obvious that the medium is around the edges but I don't know if it is used on the whole protector.
Because there is a considerable area around the viewable screen like a little frame, how about cutting a protector from something like protector pages, transparency medium, etc... as discussed in other threads, and then attaching it with some kind of non-damaging sticky substance around the edges. First thing that comes to mind is the glue that you can get for "make your own post-it notes" or even very thin double side removable, clear tape. I have some tape that is double sided, reposistional, used for mounting paper on walls without damaging the walls. It is just sticky enough but easily removable. I know it comes in little squares but not sure if it comes in rolls.
Wish I could do more playing with all my toys so I could add more info but still have pinched nerve in neck so have to do most of my work in semi-reclined position. (With me now, on a twin bed are 2 1200's, 1 Webplayer, 1 Dell Notebook, 1 CF-01 in dock with mucho peripheral hanging off (on a lap board), another large lap board (using now with Notebook), several laptop hardrives, two pcmcia sound cards in boxes, 1 external usb slim laptop harddrive in box, box of assorted cables and stuff, 1 set of external Notebook speakers (loose), 2 surge protector power strips, several cd's in cases, a couple of computer magazines, remote for Dishplayers, several orthopedic and regular pillows, an ashtray (bad girl), and my magic orange nubby ball that I roll around on my neck. And you ask if I am a geek girl????
