64mb compatible memory

For those that are looking for memory that works. In the last batch of memory there were a couple of different "brands". They all seemed to work, so you might look for memory with these numbers:

Kingston KTD-CP/64 (says it is for Dell Lattitude CP computers)
Dell P/N MT8LDT864HG-6

You can do a search for those numbers and find out specs for them. The Kingston memory seems to be the best number to search on.

Hope this helps those still looking for memory.

Well, I just ordered this 64 memory chip direct from Dell (it looked like it was the cheapest when price comparing) for about $45 shipped. I'm new here, if you couldn't tell. I just purchased a DSTN ST1200 and love it. I would like to eventually put a USB port in it... I ordered a Fujitsu harsh environment case for it as well (it's for the ST1000, but it should work). I would like to order a small Fujitsu keyboard for it as well as a Fujitsu stand (both are available through eBay). Are there any other places that carry these? I my house we have a wireless network to link all the computers as well as a DSL internet line running to an Apple AirPort. It's really quite cost-effective, and very very useful. I just installed Quicken on the Fujitsu off of a CD-ROM drive in a computer at the other end of the house. Also, my university (U of Wisconsin-Madison) has wireless networking available in many locations throughout the campus, which makes the wireless network card even more useful (D-Link). Anyway, I hope to post some more a bit later.

For the stylistic 1200 go to http://www.coastmemory.com
You want the LGED64U/064/G3V60 64 MEG 144 PIN 3.3V EDO SO DIMM 8X8 BUILD
$28.00
It is under the Laptop SODIMMs section. You'll have to go into the bios to
have it recognize the new ram after you install it. After upgrade the RAM
total is 80 megs.

I'm in Milwaukee by the way.

Northstar, what do you mean by going into bios to have the 1200 recognise the additional 64MB memory ? When I look at my bios I don't see anywhere where you can configure RAM. All the bios seems to do is report on how much there is.

I ask this because I have purchased what I believe is 64MB EDO RAM but the machine does not recognise it and I was wondering what bios changes may be necessary here.

By the way, I'm in Melbourne Australia and it's bloody near imposible to get any parts for the 1200 over here !

You're right, you don't (or can't) change it here - but you need to usually go into the BIOS the first time to have it autorecognize the new memory after it is installed.

All 64mb memory is not the same. You need some that was previously described for it to work right.
