I tried direct cable communication with my desk top. os on desktop is win 98 se and stylistic 1200 is win 95, when I use desk top as host it works great, but when I try to use stylistic as host ot does not connect and gives me the message ( cable is disconnected.) does any body know why and how can I correct it.

Its because one is win95. I was never able to get a win95 to talk to a win98. They changed something in the process. However Laplink should work just fine...if you can find a copy.

Networking is much easier and faster.

I was never able to get direct cable working either so I went to networking instead. For an investment of about $20 for cards and crossover cable I can now talk easily to my PC.

You might want to give Interlink and Interserver, but then you can only send files in one direction. Might work for you in a pinch.
