Battery Life?
Curious to know what kind of battery life everyone is getting.

I'm just curious to know what kind of battery life everyone is getting? I seem to be maxing out at around 2 hours, which is way under the 5 hours the product literature boasts. Obviously their figures are for new units, and are probably inflated and/or represent ideal conditions (and I admit that I have been running a lot of drive- and processor-intensive apps), but I don't know if this is about average or if maybe I would be better off replacing the battery. According to the battery meter (which I'm not sure how much to trust) I lose about 20% of battery charge within the first few minutes, which may be indicative that this battery just isn't holding a full charge.

Disabling the serial and LPT ports seems to have extended life a bit, but I'd also be interested in any other tips (beyond PM settings) for getting the most out of the battery.

I haven't got my 1200 yet, but my 2300 gets around 4 hours...(My CF-01 gets about an hour to one and a half w/the wireless card in). You can also chock that the IRDA isn't running and draining your battery.

Do the lithium/ion batteries gain a "memory" like the Ni/Cad batteries do?

I've heard that it's actually bad to run Li-ion batteries all the way down - just the opposite of Ni-cad. Is this true?

If you really run them completely to the ground, there's a risk you might not be bale to recharge them again.
They must have built-in protections because it's never happened to me !
I did have to deep freeze a Sony camcorder battery though to make it work properly again. Never knew what caused the problem !
