I have to wonder why someone would make their feedback section on eBay private.

There are some people on ebay that are out for revenge. They either didn't have enough money to pay for the auction, used a fake credit card and wonder why the product was not sent, or their email address was invalid/too full to receive emails. This then causes them to get angry and post feedback that doesn't belong....the world is not a fair place. I expect people looking at auctions to browse the website and then they can see the feedback there. Have the most recent feed back up on the website but it is not always up to date:

Lars,

Missed out on the bigger lots. Do you anticipate running any again?

eBay shows that 10% of your feedback is negative.

You site doesn't show any of the negatives.

Are the negatives valid? Let the potential buyer decide. Most undeserved negatives are readily apparent.

Otherwise it looks like you have something to hide, especially when you have a page that says "this is my feedback" that does not include the negatives.

Hi. I generally do not participate in arguments on the internet, as I have found it to be a waste of time. It's your loss not to bid on my auctions. Just look at the pricing and the feedback from the USA customers. PositiveSale.com Inc.is one of the only companies on the net who delivers *most* of its products to international customers. You do not know or understand the risks involved in selling to international customers. There is a much greater percentage of fraud in eastern Europe, Africa, etc. Several international fraudulent PayPal transactions and ebay auctions occur everyday. The greatest percentage of the occur in international transactions. I ask you to ponder what people do when they do not get their product after using a fraudulent credit card; they leave Neg. Feed back. I ask you to find another company on the net who delivers almost all its stock to international customers, has as low prices, and does not have any neg. feedback. If you care to note, almost all ebay members "deliver to USA ONLY". I like to give people a chance and believe that generally, people are good. I clean out the feedback on the PositiveSale.com website so that only recent feedback is shown. Most of the neg. feedbacks were from last year so they may have been deleted, as well as some of the good feedbacks from last year. I like to keep the site clean and not have a 5 page long feedback hogging up webspace and bandwith. When I am trying to keep the site short and clean, I feel the most recent feedback is the most important for users to see, and if they wish they can email all the other feedback. Not all recent feedback is shown, because I may not have updated the feedback section for a few days.

Thanks,

Lars Olson
PositiveSale.com Inc.

PS. I do plan to run more of these big loads on ebay, but haven't decided when. You can always email positivesale@positivesale.com, I always give nice deals to nice people.

It quite possible that failing to bid on one of your auctions would be my loss. It's also quite possible that posting on one of your auctions would result in the buyer getting screwed.

However, if you post a list of "your feedback" that doesn't include negatives, including one negative in the past month, you're misrepresenting yourself.

If you have your own page to list your feedback, list the negatives as well, and then list as much explanation as you want. It's your page, you're not limited to a single line as in the eBay feedback listing.

Hi.

With that stage of thought;
One could also say that buying software to protect our children from viewing pornography on the internet is silly because protecting this porn from them would be misrepresenting the internet. Dubbing out swear words and violence in movies in front of our kids and covering their eyes is misrepresenting tv.

I do value your opinion and will take your advice into consideration.

Thank you.

I hardly think that stopping a minor from seeing pornography is the same thing as only posting the good things about yourself and hiding the bad things. Let take a little more realistic analogy. Say a new person moves in next door to you and your family and all accounts of him say he is a great guy and an upstanding citizen, you would think you were lucky to have such a good neighbor. The reality is that this person is a pediphile and mass murderer but he decided not to tell anyone about that since he didn't feel that he got a fair trail and he was not really guilty, it was all lies and misunderstandings. How do you fell about your new neighbor now? You may be as honest as the day is long but it doesn't look good to hide the negatives and only show the positives, it only makes the negatives look more damning. Just my opinion.

Buyer beware !!!!! Something fishy is going on with positivesale.com. I'm waiting on a order for a 510 from 3 weeks ago and all my emails get returned from the server and no reply to phone calls. Time for a fraud investigation. If anyone knows anything let me know.

I understand what you mean. I have 7 of these on order from this seller and I'm hoping he makes good on the promises to the organizer of the groupbuy. We should start to see them this week, I'm told.

Stretch,

I haven't heard a word yet. I've been dealing thru LiquidCyanide on this board who organized a group buy from PS. I was concerned over the seemingly poor communication via this board but LiquidCyanide felt like he was more or less reputable. LiquidCyanide has been OK with communication, but I still have this feeling I'll be losing $700.00 to PS. If this does happen I'll be one angry camper. But I'll give it a few more days.

I figured I would share my story also. I placed an order on 3/20. A couple of days before I had sent an email with some questions. He responded within a day. So I placed the order and Paypal takes my money for 4 units and transfers to PS account, this confirmed by an email from PayPal. I haven't recieved one email from PS regarding my order or has he returned any phone calls. I did get the 2 emails with Test in the subject. Since then I have issued a complaint with Paypal. Paypal is still investigating and haven't had any luck contacting PS. If I hear anything I will let everyone know.

Crap. You know, I hope all of you that placed orders get what you've paid for.

I make it a habit to not buy from eBayers who keep their comments private. This is a great example of why. Not only do you not see the (negative) comments, you cannot see if there's any consistent problem with the seller.

Just in case the info on the site is removed:

I didn't see anything else there. Good luck to all in resolving this.

PG,

I'm in the same boat. It's been almost three weeks since I ordered and I've received no contact since the original order confimation. My payment was accepted, but since then I've gotten no answer to emails or phone calls. Please let us know if you hear anything or your PayPal investigation turns anything up.

Thanks,

Maybe the guy had a accident or something and he's laid up in a hospital.surely if he's a crook he wouldn't keep his web site up, ya think ? Hope everybody makes out.

Then I got an email on 3/15/02 saying it would be shipped on 3/18/02. That's the last I've heard from positivesale. My emails kept getting bounced after that. Sombody knew enough to fix the email server.

This is sounding more and more like "Lars" is a thief. I'd like to propose that those who ordered a 510 from this scammer post their username and date ordered and quantity ordered. Perhaps include dates of emails and promised dates of shipment if given them. We need to get an idea how badly this @$$hole is screwing this 'community'. What do you guys think?

Hi All,

My (limited) experience with PS has been mixed.

I ordered a single unit from him on 2/24/02. I received a confirmation email on 2/27/02 and the PT510 was shipped the following day. Unfortunately, when it arrived (3/8/02) it was missing its AC adapter.

After that, communication with PS seemed to go downhill... After a bunch of emails (and filing a complaint with PayPal), I finally received the missing adapter (3/30/02) and the unit has been working fine ever since.

Overall, I can't say it was a totally satisfying experience...but the tablet's condition was exactly as advertised and works great.

I ordered an excellent condition 510 and stylus on 3/13, my account was charged on 3/14, and I received order confirmation and replied to it on 3/15. Since then, I have received no communication from Lars. Telephone calls go unanswered, emails bounced back for a while, now they go through but do not receive a response. It looks like I will be initiating a fraud investigation with PayPal.

Fellow board members:

I am part of the group buy that LiquidCyanide organized for Point 510's. I emailed PositiveSale on 04/01/02
with concerns about the group buy. Understand that this is not to say anything bad about Brian's handling of the group buy. I believe this was the first time he attempted a group buy, and cannot imagine it being very easy. He made the effort for all of us, and I personally appreciate it very much. I just thought the board may benefit from this information. The following email is really in reference to the group buy mentioned above, and does not offer any info to those of you who have purchased independantly.

_______________________Email Below____________________________________________________________________

>Hello. The person who was in charge of sending the money sent money on March the 20th. I received the >money on the week of the 30th. The item is now clearing in the bank. He waited until >the 20th of march to send payment and now there is a hold on the Cheque at the bank. I insisted that he >send the funds via wire transfer numerous times back in January, February, etc. over and over and over >again to avoid difficulties, but payment was sent on the 20th of march via US M/O cheque which requires a >clear at the bank. What say you Brian ? I also received a very long email from PS today and for what ever reason he chose to reveal alot of problems he has been having and made a commitment to resolve all complaints. Time will tell.It will take me a day or two to respond to all his remarks but I intend to do so because I for one take pride in conducting myself and all business manners in a professional way rather than getting boged down in a bunch of poor excuses and improper remarks.

My tracking number is showing up. It was
stuck in Edmonton for 2 days with an
exception. One for the mangled spelling of my city and another
for inadequate merchandise description.
Now it's in Calgary. At least it was sent.
Now all I have to do is hope that UPS does a
better job than FEDEX.

For all those waiting on their 510's from PS, I can report that mine arrived today. It's missing the AC adapter, but seems otherwise functional.

A question for those who ordered from PS before this latest debacle, did your 510 have the theft tag on it? I was under the impression that the ones from PS did not, however this one does.

Were you able to track your package?
I've been following mine and it's
taking the slow boat from Edmonton.
It took 3 days to get across the border.
Then it was checked by customs.
Then onward to Cut Bank, Helena and
Billings Montana. I didn't know Montana had that many cities 8-). Next stop Minneapolis, MN. When UPS estimates
a week for a package to reach it's destination they aren't kidding.

I got my two 510's today. They were in
better shape than I thought they would be.
I got the power supplys and cables.
It only took 40 days to get them, from the
time of the initial order.
It took 10 days via UPS, after being re-sent.
They did have the security tags on them.
