I know this is a stylistic 1200 area but no thread for the 510. I don't think this has been covered. I have a 98lite on this pad and am having trouble installing the verizon dsl software to connect. when I try to install it I get a error like this " Unable to read Registry entries. program will terminate". Has anyone seen the problem.
Stuck with a 56k. myself. 98Lite disables so much of Windows, it seems reasonable to assume that the problem. Run 98Lite again and make sure you leave tcp/ip enabled.
Not sure if Verizon has anything special on their install, but for both of my DSL providers (RoadRunner and EarthLink)I tossed their install software, which was just a custom version of IE and the network settings. I just installed TCP/IP manually and told it to use DHCP this worked fine for me.
Worst case, look at how the Verizon s/w configured tcp on another pc and copy those settings to your 510.
