I need help finding a source for a TFT screen for a Stylistic 1200. The TFT part number is CA51001-0163. They seem to be rather odd??? Boatloads of CA51001-0162 show up on ebay but am a bit hessitant to pick one up - I don't think they will drop in fit. Sources anyone?

The same Ebay vendor is selling the part number you are looking for. Do a search on
8* NEC LCD Display
or link to this example

northstar : could you give us a update on how this turned out when you get it back together ? I have 3 1200's and you never know when I might be in the same boat.

I don't know about all of them...but that video connector is different than the one on my DSTN 1200.

Mine has two straight connectors, rather than one multipin connector.

To YouBecha:
Could you post the part numbers for the DSTN
display ?

To Anyone - could someone post the part number(s) for the Point 510 DSTN LCD ?

Thanks in advance.

The DSTN screen is a Kyocera KCS6448ESTT-X8

The X8 I am pretty sure means 8"
6448 is 640x480,
ESTT is the type...there are many flavors of 640x480 screen and it usually specifies the connectors etc...can't find specs for this particular screen.

Personally I am trying to find the Hirose motherboard connectors (FX6 20p) to get someone to make an extension cable for me.

Thanks for the update of the display information.

Have you looked at www.digikey.com for the hirose FX6 20P connectors ? I took a quick look but there were quite a few different types and I don't know the specifics of what you are looking for.

Would you say the TFT a lot better or is it about the same as the DSTN?

Not even comparable - Sorry for taking so long to reply to my original post. The replacement of the TFT I got on eBay for the original cracked TFT is complete and works. I have both a TFT and DSTN and the TFT is WAY better. It is bright and visable in sunlight - the DSTN cannot be seen in sunlight. You don't have to be directly in front of the screen either. Don't get me wrong - I have been using my DSTN daily for over a year - its not impossible to use, actually very useful! - now however the TFT will be its replacement.

It sure would be nice if you could post pics of the mobo to screen connectors...I am curious if I could simply plug a TFT screen into my DSTN Fuji.

I tried without success to replace my DSTN with a TFT screen. The connectors and antenna board are different.

Ok, I finally got around to buying the connectors...I have the Screens with their ribbon cable, I just needed to make an extention for my indash install.

So I bought some Hirose FX6 40 pin 4mm connectors...they are the exact item to match both the video cables (at the mobo) AND the Hard Drive Cable...so someone could make a different cable if so inclined (maybe add cdrom)

The FX6 connectors are .8mm lead spacing so it is hard to find a board to solder them to, but I think I have that solved also.

So to sum up, I am building an extention cable using these Hirose connectors.

I finished my extension cable...painful soldering...anyway I hooked up my TFT screen to it...works just fine so far.

So my DSTN fujitsu is driving a TFT screen. (a TFT 1200 screen BTW)
