I'm having quite a bit of trouble installing Linux on my Stylistic Point 510. I have tried installing RH 7.1, Slackware 8.0 and Slackware 7.1.
I dont have a pcmcia cdrom drive or NIC, so I have had to install by moving the IDE HD to a laptop with floppy and cdrom drives and then moving it back.
The tablet is a Stylistic Point 510 w/ 32mb RAM.
The install laptop is a Toshiba 200MMX w/ 32mb RAM.
At first, I would get consistent GPFs at the beginning of the kernel boot. I added mem=32mb to my boot options to fix this.
Now, I get "Kernel Panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 30:2b" later on in the boot sequence.
Does anyone know how to deal with this problem? The install boots correctly in the install laptop.
