I just had a "duh" moment regarding adding USB ports to the 1200 without having to use a port replicator or having to perform a HW hack: since the 1200 supports cardbus PCMCIA it is possible to use a PC Card to USB adapter. A quick search found several different styles, priced under $100.00. Although this may be somewhat pricey for some, the ability to have USB on the unit itself rather than only when docked might be worthwhile. I post this information in the event that I'm not the only slow one here, and someone else hasn't already thought about it.
