I just tried my Compact Flash Card that I used with my digital camera and the PCMCIA adapter reader for it that I used to transfer pictures taken by my digital camera and found it is completely compatible to transfer data back and forth from my desktop PC to the 1200. It's a simple way to transfer data back and forth.

That works fine. Just think of the CF card of being a floppy :) all you need is a reader on your PC.
Also if you have a network setup, you might want to get a ethernet card. Even better, get a 802.11b card and connect to your network/internet wirelessly! :)
The 1200 is fast enough for surfing the web. The screen resolution is low but you get used to scrolling.
