New to 1200 - some questions (DOS pen drivers? USB?)

Hey folks,

Recently picked up a Stylistic 1200 after deciding to upgrade from a Dynapad and loving it (though now I want a 2300! *Hides credit card from self*) but I have a few questions. I have Win98SE working great with pen and CIC recognizer, but I can't find the DOS pen drivers. I've seen reference to penmouse, but the only two versons I've found are for GRiD and Kurma, neither of which want to work. Is there some hack or trick I need to make these work, or anyone have any sources for ones that will? I'd love to be able to play a couple or three older DOS games that just don't work on my fancy XP box anymore.

Second, does anyone have a page with specific info on the USB hack? I've found a couple or three web pages with nice pictures, but none that give specifics like "Connect pin one on the USB port to PIN XX on the replicator port, pin two to XX", etc.

Third, is there such a thing as a PCMCIA extender? One of the nice things about my Dynapad is the card ports are not stacked, so you can use a type 3 and a type 2 card at the same time. Is there a way to extend the bottom (or top?) slot so you can do something similar with this?

I think that's all. Thanks a lot!

Scott Holder

PS: From the looks of things, I lucked out with the battery I got. I can get ~2 hours with it.

As per USB
http://www.linux-hacker.net/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl?Action=ShowPost&Board=FujitsuStylistic1200&Post=82&Idle=0&Sort=0&Order=Descend&Page=0&Session=

It gives few links to tech specs with complete pinouts

The USB mod was straight forward...but not for the timid...requires some precise soldering...

the easy way out is a $30 port replicator from ebay.

Found and tested a DOS pen driver (Thanks, DJ!) An email will get it, or is there somewhere I can upload to?

Someone sent it to me quite awhile ago, and it worked fine without any additional configuration.

I did have some issues with it working after a "Restart in MS-DOS Mode" from Win9x, I did tend to have to do a complete restart and do an F8 'Command Prompt Only' boot. Otherwise worked fine.

Now I just need to find something similar for a 2300 :)

Hi,

I see it doesn't work for the 2300 ?! .. that probably means it doesn't work for the LT either. That's too bad. Maybe there is a programmer out there who can accomplish the task and porting the TSR to the 2300/LT ...

Ok a little update - I got the penmouse executable from fujitsu support, the one for the Stylistic 500, but it doesn't work. It seems that when I load a program that would use the mouse, it just locks.

This 1200 has kindof a fritzy pen anyways, when the pen gets more than about a half inch away from the screen it jumps all over and makes clicks, etc. I'll try another 1200 out of the stack...

If anyone could send me a known working dos pen-mouse driver, to kushti_9[at]yahoo.com, I'd greatly appreciate it.
