any chance I can install Windows XP Tablet edition?

I'm getting ready to install an OS on my "new" stylistic 1200. I've read what pretty much everyone has to say about it all...but I don't recall having seen anyone say anything about XP Tablet PC addition. I know that the answer is probably the same as with regular XP (that my little processor won't run it), but I thought it was worth a bit of thought.

I'm also thinking about dual-booting it with linux. Anyone have further or new thoughts about that? Is there any one definitive Linux distribution that runs more quickly than other ones on our small processor and little amount of RAM?

Thanks in advance for the help before I get started!

Personally, I'd ph33r WinXP on a 1200. I might try Win2k on mine, just to see what it's like, but I don't think it'll work too well.

I did, however, put WinXP Pro on my 2300 and it's very usable. Only think now is getting the pen working. Anybody got any hints/tips on that? I'd be willing to try the NT4 driver if I could find it, anybody got it?

NT driver for the 2300, and 2K/XP drivers for other machines can be found on Fujitsu's site: http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Portal/support.do

GOOD LUCK!

Well, I've done some hacking about, and by modifying WinXP's sysoc.inf I was able to install the NT4 Pen drivers into WinXP. However, they don't seem to actually work. As near as I can tell, the driver is in there, must just not work.

I did, however, stumble across this: http://www.vtablet.com/

It looks promising, however it has the actual digitizer types and not the Stylistic. Anyone know what the base type of tablet is?

Also, I've noticed there's a "Digitizer" in the Device Manager with no driver available. I suppose that'd need Fujitsu to write something for it.

Really hope I can get this working :)

The early Fujitsu active digitizers were Kurta/Mutoh. Again, good luck!

Hmm, still feel like I'm getting a bit closer, but not quite there. Those mutohnt.exe drivers look to be for NT3.51, perhaps.

Last question, hopefully ( ;) ), any idea what model tablet it is, and what com port it's on? Thus far it seems to be Com3, but not sure.

Trying to learn as much as I can about this thing so I can make it work :)

I wonder what installing NT4, then installing XP as an upgrade might do. Besides take a long time.

I believe I remember Com4... Since it's an OEM application, there's no model number to help. Finepoint Innovations claims to offer support? More drivers at http://www.mutoh.be/downloaddigit.html
