| Just a quick post to let anyone interested know: I got a 40GB toshiba MK4019GAX drive to work in my 1200. Basically, I just modded the BIOS auto detect values to increase the number of cylinders to the max, which lets the BIOS boot from the drive in LBA mode (the Linux kernel is within the cylinder limit I specified).
The numbers in the bios for capacity are totally wrong, but Linux sees the whole drive. With a rather large install of Red Hat 9, I have 2.6GB used and 33.2 available (I have about 600 meg swap, may not use it).
Now to get a frame buffer menu system working, and an mp3 player...
