I just wonder how many lucky people got the I/O panel? Maybe we need a group buy for the panel. :)

One of the machines that I got only had 16 meg in it also. I noticed that it was the one with a big 'ole white sticker on the back. So, check your machines out when they arrive.

My Stylistic showed up in mint condition as well, also missing the panel. It is difficult to believe it had been used at all, no scratches etc. Thanks much Reldridg.

My guess is whatever company originally used these just removed all of the I/O doors right from the start. They are problably sitting on hundreds of them unless they have already made it to the dumpster.

Yep got mine yesterday just finished overhaul:
Pin 1 on serial port was gone. (repaired)
Did the Win98se for now to test things out. ( can't believe how well winamp works on these things )

1 super white pixel always on and a cursor size black spot about an inch from the upper right corner of the screen
and missing I/O door.

This is going in the robot so it won't be a prob the screen will be off 99.999% of the time anyway.

Thanks reldridg
Eagle

PS: about the I/O Door... I ordered 3 and haven't gotten them. I got the extra PCMCIA Door on friday and there is no reference to the I/O doors. I will call on monday to see what the story is.

FYI, I ordered an I/O door from Mobility Concepts, and received it within a few days. The invoice is sitting in the office, but if I remember correctly it was somewhere around $7-$9 dollars, and the shipping was minimal. After I placed the order I called back (after hours) and left a message asking about pen tips; they included 3 with the I/O door, and as far as I can tell they didn't charge me for them.

Here's the URL: http://www.mobilityconcepts.com

Since I upgraded mine with a 64meg stick, I've got a 16meg stick that's lying around if anyone's interested.

just an update....
I just got my IO doors from GSCMOBILE. Shipping was $5 for the three doors. Man does it make the 1200 feel complete. You don't have to worry about shorting out or static electricity on the serial port when you pick the unit up. ( and they look good to)

The IO Doors were 5.67 each and the shipping was $5
3 x 5.67 = 17.01
17.01 + 5.00 = 22.01

They really make you feel better when you are carrying the 1200 around.
Drogue_Anathema reports faster delivery from Mobility Concepts but I had already ordered from GSC.
It is good to know we can get them from more than one source ( I don't think GSC has an inventory I think they order as needed directly from Fujitsu.)

Eagle:

When you purchased the doors from GSC did they send you a credit application program? I talked to Brian Moeggenberg and he emailed me a program to print a form for the credit application. It looks like I am going into business with them. It asks for bank accounts and releases for credit reports. All I want is to buy a couple silly little doors, not the whole business. Maybe I will try the other vendor mentioned.

I got a quote from Mobility Concepts for $10 each for the io port doors. Is this what other people have been quoted?

After the weird credit application from GSC I called Mobility concepts. You have to call the main office and ask for service or the help desk. They will then pass you to someone else that can actually order the part. I got passed to Rosemary and she was quite helpful. She asked me what the part cost and I quoted the $5.67 from GSC. Then after she found the part in their database she said $6 would be a good price and I didn't argue. We will see what they actually come in as along with shipping. One thing, be sure and have the full part number as listed in the other thread including the Y004 suffix. When I gave her the first part she said there were lots of parts with that prefix. The suffix above cinched it.

When I ordered the IO doors from GSC they faxed me a credit card sig form that was just an approval so they could charge my credit card and the quote for the doors. I filled in the visa info and signed both and faxed them back.

tcbordp did you tell them you were an individual and not a business

I am pretty sure that I told Brian originally that I was just an individual. I figured he might have sent me the wrong form but since mobility concepts was much easier to deal with I told him thanks anyway and not to bother sending the correct one if that was the case.
