Greetings Hagie. Looks like it's just you and me. <shrug>

The following tries to help. I got it by doing a search of this board's archive with the search terms 'DOS' and 'mouse' and "match all" checked. The thread's subject is "pen mouse support within dos apps ? " ...

http://www.linux-hacker.net/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl?Action=ShowPost&Board=FujitsuStylistic1200&Post=252&Idle=0&Sort=0&Order=Descend&Page=0&Session=

On my 2300, I went to Control Panel > Pen Configuration > Pen Subsytem and chose Emulate Mouse. I loaded a DOS Prompt and ran the DOS mode Edit program. In a window, the mouse works. Maximize the window so it's full screen but still showing the enclosing Windows toolbars and frame and the mouse still works. Click on the full screen mode icon and it'll ... go full screen, of
course. Now the mouse doesn't work. :^(

This thread (Subject: "New to 1200 - some questions (DOS pen drivers? USB?)") suggests that Wanderer found a working driver:

http://www.linux-hacker.net/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl?Action=ShowPost&Board=FujitsuStylistic1200&Post=403&Idle=0&Sort=0&Order=Descend&Page=0&Session=

He says, "Found and tested a DOS pen driver (Thanks, DJ!) An email will get it..."

That sounds more hopeful. Wanderer has already kindly supplied me with pen drivers for the 2300 in response to an e-mail. Let me know what you find, please?

Be well,

Mike

If you still need the DosPen driver, go to Fujitsu software downloads and look under stylistic 500 downloads. There you will find the dos tsr

Ummm, nope. It doesn't work after all.

I tried several different contortions, but couldn't get any pen activity in a fullscreen DOS session, or even when re-booted in DOS mode, using Edit as a test program. It still picks up the mouse emulation when the DOS session is in a window, just as before, but not full screen.

penmouse.com loads without blowing anything up, but doesn't seem to see the pen.

The popup keyboard shows on screen just fine, but doesn't respond to the pen at all.

Sigh... Damn shame. It'd be kinda cute, at least.

I still would like to know if folks that have loaded Linux on their machines are achieving full functionality and reliability, including mouse emulation, handwriting recognition, and software keyboard?

I don't really care which operating system I use since my main application is as a simple book-reader. It's obvious the DOS and Windows support for these units is just about broken, given Fujitsu's abandonment. If it works under Linux then I'll be content.

Mike D.
