The display and the digitizer

How is the display and the digitizer connected to the mb?
How is a digitizer different than a touchscreen?

I'm thinking of getting a dead 1200 and put a mini-itx mb in it so I need to know if I can hook up the display and digitizer at all...

The digitizer needs the RF pen to work...a touchscreen does it all by itself.

On the 1200 the digitizer serial line (a flat ribbon cable) connects to the soundcard circuitry... Since it is a serial device, It should be possible to connect this to anything.

The display connects to the mobo via a Hirose FX6 connector...the mobo has the video card built in, and the backlight controller is a separate piece.

It will take quite a bit of doing to get that particular display operating.
