I was going to install win2k on a 2300 and was considering using the 2000lite utility to try and speed things up. Has anyone else tried this? Pro and cons? Does the pen still work with Win2k?
98lite makes 98SE run a bit faster, but it takes forever to boot. There is no known pen driver for 2K or XP on the 2300, although I have gotten it to work with Tablet Edition.
Maybe. I've put it on over 100 machines, 510, 1200, 2300, C-500 & my desktop, versions 4.5 to 4.7, and 98lite micro almost doubles the boot time from a fresh install of 98SE. YMMV
98lite micro comes with the registered version, not the demo. Interestingly, they claim a 40% reduction in boot time. Maybe I'll play with it some more...
Wow, that is intense, you have 100 licenses for 98lite?
All I can tell you is it boots the same if not faster than regular 98.
Remember you choose what gets installed...that is part of the 'lite', maybe your combination is missing something, and during the boot, windows waits for that items to start up.
