Hello, I aquired the 2300 about 2 months ago from an e-bayer.The unit came w/Win95 and as I am more comfortable w/Win98 I immediately formatted HD and did a clean install of Win98se.Everything is working wonderfully under 98se but after installing Word,Excel,Delorme 2004 for the GPS,PenOffice by Phatware and misc.other utilities, I seem to be running out of disk space.No luck determining which HD will slide in w/out problems yet, but I would appreciate if you told me which model # HD you tried so I know what doesn't work.
Yes, I still have a usable copy of CIC penX laying around somewhere, but I would highly recommend you check out PenOffice by Phatware.It's available as trialware fromhttp://www.paragraph.com/index-products.html
Much more useful,recognition is way better,has a nice notetaker utility, and you can markup Word documents.
Anyone else know which Harddrives are compatable? I would love to save the random purchase/try it out plan for something a little less expensive than a HD !!
