This hack I have been more of a taker instead of a giver, but this MIGHT start to make up for it.

In my local Office Max's (not online) there is a case that fits the 'Fuj' to a T.

Made by Targus (Model DC-01), it is actually meant as a digital camera case. Removeable velcro inserts, an internal hinged, padded (but firm) seperator (for screen protection). Has your typical holders for pens, cards, etc and even has a little extra internal space for the PS. Since pentops are more sensitive to screen pressure from the case, this one has more supportive sides then the average soft case.

Sells for $25 at my store.

A must buy.

Enjoy,

Thnkgrn.

I found a nice case at Target Sunday near the inkjet cartridges. It's a Target house brand intended for video games model T1100, I couldn't find it on their website. It fits the 1200 nicely with lots of extra room for cards and power supply for only $5.50.

Got the DC-01 at OM for $25 and it's great, the 1200 fits really snugly in there and rests on the sewn in separations that fortunately fold down nively. No need to rip them apart !
At first I only saw the DC-03, but that's $40 and it's too big.

As a side note, Digital Cameras have come a long way no

hum...I'm taking the targus one back, it's a snug fit but there's no real room left for the AC Adapter , much less for a GPS.

Target here in Evanston, IL had quite a few on Sunday. There's plenty of room for extras.

Just got the T1100 at Target for $5.50. A bargain at that price, although the previous price of $8 was decent too !
How can they sell it for such a low price. Design is good and quality is on par witht the Targus !
thanks for the tip

I have the PS1 case and it is not tall enough. You cant zip the top when the 1200 is in it. If it was just a half inch taller.

Get "The Game" Case at Target. I bought 3 at $5.50 each. Plenty of room for a power supply, cards, etc. No Zipper to wear out or break. I suppose if you're really worried about protecting the Fuj's screen, one could place a sheet of plexi on the internal divider, too.

Hey All,

For those who have not seen the case at Target, here was my take.

It is kind of like comparing the factory 'wetsuit' EPOD case and the many generic cases we used for it instead.

The Targus fits like a glove, does not allow the 'Fuj' to move around, has stiff sides, in my opinion, much better protection and just enough space for the power supply.

The Game Case at Target is not as well built, but has a lot more space, numerous pockets (and comes with 3 plastic colored CD cases as well.

I stood in Target for 15 minutes with my Fujitsu in one hand and my ... in the other trying to decide , I ultimately kept the Targus. At the price Target has the Game Case, you cannot beat it for a general gizmo case and can serve as a pretty nice case for the 'Fuj'. The Targus has a much more professional feel and look though (but a lot less space).

You cant beat either case. Just depends on what it is you are looking for.

Problem with Targus is that there's really no extra roomfor the power supply or other accessories (GPS, etc..). It does work if you don't need to carry the powers upply around, but that's not going to happen too often with the limited battery life.

If anyone is still interested, Target has now dropped the T1100 to $3.90 ... I guess nobody was interested in a game-station case but they sure work great for the 1200.

Snickers: Thanks for the tip on the Target T1100 carrying case. It snugly fits two Thinkpads, or one Thinkpad + accessories with a lot of space left over. The zippered compartments are useful for disks, CDs, PCMCIA cards, etc.

All in all, a very good general-purpose carrying case which is particularly suitable for portable electronics.

Most of the cases were dusty and shop-soiled, though, because the upper flap was outside the cardboard carton. A few minutes' work with a vacuum cleaner got rid of the dust. I also removed the silly 'Get Into The Game' logo in about 15 seconds with a pocket knife.

They're going pretty fast, now that the price has been lowered to $3.90.

Well I missed out on the previous Target case, but I picked up one there today SKU#9175655559 Prod ID #207050039

It is supposed to be pulled from the shelves but there are a few available, they don't have a price and list on the machine and in their books as $0.00 so they sold it to me for $4.

It is smaller than the previous one, but is very similar, same stupid logo, same closure, two large pockets/dividers, the Fuji just fits in one, tight, my mini keyboard OR powersupply fits in the other.

What the heck it was only $4.
