Of course it is possible. ST1200 uses standart HDDs, that means that you can pull one out and insert one in. I removed the original HDD (800 megs or something) and inserted the one from Toshiba (5Gigs). BIOS recognised it without any problems. The thing that matters is the size of the HDD. That should be a thin one, they differ. When changing the HDD pay attention tom the IDE cable - it is pretty thin and fragile and can be easily broken.
As for 98 SE - no problem at all. There is no much difference between 95 and 98 - USB support, some useless options, space consumption and that is it. Pen services will work with no problem - 98 SE with pen services for 95 works even on ST1000.
You can use ST1200 for anything you want - that is a lovely gadget! Internet, network terminal, GPS navigation pad, word processor on-the-way, everything - unleash your imagination! ST1200 is an ordinary PC with all thiose lovely abilities. USE CD emulator and you will get the possibility to play Age of Empires on it. I love this computer. Regards. With lots of Luck.
