Pen heats up, a fix?

My 1200 pen no longer works and changing the battery, produces some nasty heat in the battery compartment area. Anyone had this problem before, and hopefully fixed it?

Are the TabletPC pens compatible by any chance?

Hi there! Try Ebay. They offer original stylus pens for 30 dollars. Type "Stylistic 1200" in a Search prompt line and hit enter. Try to clean the inner parts of the pen with some non-strong solvent, like alcohol. It looke like a short circuit to me.
Regards.
With lots of Luck.

Mine did this occasionally, I mostly avoided it by not tightening the cap all the way. It makes enough contact to work pretty early, so you should be okay.

My thought is this is due to some paint flaking off somewhere that shouldn't, or perhaps a contact getting bent. Cleaning would be a good bet, otherwise you may be stuck buying a new pen. Definitely don't want to let it sit heating too long, shorted out batteries can be a Bad Thing.
