New Messagenote software?? (modified 0 times) jessedymond

i picked up a 1200 with all the options, installed 98SE, got all my usb 2.0 and network devices up and running... but now i am at a loss for what to do with the system.

i bought it to take notes at school (starting my master's next month, and tired of the standard notebook).

my problems are these: first, i have no idea what notetaking software i can use. i managed to get office 2000 on the stylistic, but it doesnt have the pen support that office 2003/XP etc have, and as far as i know, i can't install any of the new upgrades. it can't run XP tablet edition, and therefore cannot run GoBinder (ARGH,) onenote, or any of the common pieces. i had hopes that i could get twonote working, but to no avail.

does anyone know of a decent notetaking program that will work in 98SE on the stylistic 1200? i was hoping to use outlook to keep my calendar organized, but maybe that's a bad idea, too.

*** oh - one further question. i am using "pen services for windows 95," but i keep catching wind of CIC handwriting software that runs in 32 bit mode et al... where on earth does one find the CIC software, and is there any real advantage over the old microsoft pen drivers??

thanks
jesse

Since you're into Micro$oft, PenOffice would probably work for you. Download the trial from http://www.phatware.com/index-download.html , and email me if you can't find a serial number. I have the CIC Handwriter, too.

thanks for your assistance. an email is on the way. ;)

btw, i am usually as anti-microsoft as they come. all my machines are running linux or beos... even some of my macs and a palm pilot. (not quite practical for linux, but a fun toy). when it comes to school, compatibility is what is going to count, though, and though i am comfortable with a linux notebook, i thought a 8inch transflective monochrome machine with open source software might be asking for trouble. (or at least distraction and too much of my time right now)
