Running at higher voltage

What risk do I run if I bump the voltage up to 18-19vdc from the normal voltage? I have several car/plane adaptors that I can get plugs that fit the 1200, but they are a little higher voltage.

It will run faster! Not. The circuit will become hotter and shorten its life, and you may burn out some components. Though they normally allow some tolerance when they designed the circuit, over 10% may be too much.

Is there an easy mod that would reduce the voltage down then?
